COUNTRY KEEPERS...A NEW FOCUS

We have moved Country Keepers out of the space on Anderson Mill Rd. and have leased a small space at The Antique Marketplace, on Burnet Rd. and Koenig Lane, in the Allandale Village Shopping Center.  We will have a much smaller presence than our previous store, but this allows me to gain back some flexibility and time in the amount of hours worked and takes away the tasks that daily retail store ownership requires, to free me up for design time in my new venture.  The past year I have taught classes in needle punch and needle felting and some opportunities to design and market my creations have opened up and I feel that these opportunities need to be investigated.  I will continue to purchase, on a small scale, some of the wonderful items we love from the Pennsylvania market, will continue to carry McCalls, Goose Creek and Cheerful Giver Candles, all to be sold through the Antique Marketplace.  And, I will try to set up a very small on-line store in the Fall.  I plan to  continue teaching classes,  though now at The Honey Bee Quilt store, next to my old store location and will also teach in private homes. If you are interested in taking some classes this summer, please call the Honey Bee Quilt Store at 512-257-1269 to see if space is still available in the different themed classes .  If you go to the Classes page on this website, you will see my tentative class schedule for the summer.  Also, The Austin Area Quilt Guild  hosts a show at the Palmer Events Center, Sept. 17-19, and I will be a vendor there to feature my original punch needle designs.  So, the next year is shaping up to be a very busy one!  I am so excited about this opportunity to get back to designing and creating!

I will update this site with more details in the next few weeks.  I plan to "tweak" my space at The Antique Marketplace very often and hope to see you visit there sometime.  Again, I appreciate all the kind words and hugs and remembrances that many of you expressed to me these last few weeks.  Change can sometimes be hard, but it can also be so invigorating and helps to keep us nimble!!  I am very excited to be a part of a new adventure and hope you will join  me in this new challenge.  Have a wonderful summer!!  Donna
